Majority Vote
This project was created to easily count the votes, there are 4 members voting the president, the vice-president, the secretary, and the treasurer. In case of a tie the presidents vote breaks the tie. I simplified the equation to the simplest form. I used 2 of the 2-input AND gates (74LS08) and 1 of the 2-input OR gates (74LS32).
This truth table shows how the votes are counted. P stands for the president vote, V stands for the vice-president's vote, S stands for the secretary's vote, T stands for treasurer, and D stands for the decision made. 1 means yes or the decision was passed. 0 means no or the decision was not passed. If there is a tie present the president's vote is used to break the tie.

Simplified circuit
This project shows how circuits can be used to express a problem and find a solution. The problem was the miss counting votes and this circuit is used to count the votes more easily. I created an expression and did a circuit for it, then I simplified the expression and circuit as you see above. Both expressions and circuits work the same way but it is easier to use the simplified version because you use less chips than you need too and it is easier to check for mistakes, and it is more organized. Boolean algebra is useful because it helps simplify the expression and it gives different laws to help simplify for example the commutative law, associative law and the distributive law. It shows you how to simplify opposites and cancel terms out. Boolean Theorems helps simplify the expression by helping to show how to cancel terms out. The commutative law shows how addition and multiplications works. The associative law shows how to simplify multiplication. The distributive law shows how distributing works. This helped me simplify my equation and create a simpler circuit. My circuit worked efficiently and is well organized. The truth table shows how the votes are counted and shows how the decisions were made. And if there are any ties the president’s vote is used to break the tie.
