Energy sOURCE: WIND
1. Is this energy source classified as non renewable, renewable or inexhaustible?
Wind is classified as inexhaustible.
2. How is the energy source made usable?
Wind is used to create energy. For example wind turbines.Wind turbines operate on a simple principle. The energy in the wind turns two or three propeller-like blades around a rotor. The rotor is connected to the main shaft, which spins a generator to create electricity. It's a process where the wind is used to generate mechanical power or electricity. Wind turbines convert the kinetic energy in the wind into mechanical power. Which creates the energy to be used.
3. What are the infrastructure requirements for utilizing this energy source?
90 meters in height approximately, equipment to transport it since it is really big it is difficult.
4. What emerging technologies will make this energy source safer, more usable, more efficient, cleaner...etc?
Having lighter rotor blades will help rotate faster, taller towers will help have an advantage of faster and less turbulent wind , more reliable drivetrains, and performance-optimizing control systems. Wind is being used and it is part of the environment which is clean and will not create pollution.
