gREEK REVIval architectural style
narrative:
Greek Style was the style that created the style of the column that have or don't have a base and an entablature. Usually created with marble or stone. The marble is white or dust stucco. The stone used is limestone. This style has a flat thatched roof covered with ceramic terracotta tiles. This style began in 1825. Was mostly popular in 1825-1860. I created the Greek style on my house using simple materials such as foam, balsa wood, paint, paper, and sticks. I created a marble look using paint a grey and white mixture. I created a ceramic look by drawing lines on the roof before painting it. I created the windows with paper and sticks. The house structure was created with foam. My model is able to support its weight and is able to stand on its own. I really like this feature because the columns seem to give extra support to the roof and what would be the attic also and makes the building stand.
Entablature- (n.) a horizontal, continuous lintel on a classical building supported by columns or a wall, comprising the architrave, frieze, and cornice. |
